Homemade Laundry Soap

1/3 bar Natural Soap
½ cup washing soda
½ cup borax powder
You will also need a small bucket

Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan.
Add 6c water and boil until the soap melts.
Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved.
Pour 4c hot water into the bucket.   Add your soap mixture and stir.
Add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir.
Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel but will not be a solid gel(looks like egg drop soup).
You can add several drops of your favorite essential oil scent to give your laundry a smell as well if you like.
You use ½ cup per load and is safe for HE machines

  1. I have added borax to regular detergent using less detergent, but I haven' t yet tried to make my own. I am not sure if I am brave enough to try it .
