It is summer once again and the children have just finished up their school year which means planning lots of fun activities to keep the kiddos busy (and out of my hair). Alana has her first boyfriend which because of our rules for dating and whatnot, this means if she wants to see him they have to be at our house where we can keep a close eye on her. So in turn, he and all their friends have been hanging out at our home. This will be my first summer where I will get the chance to show off my couponing skills to the neighborhood kids.
One of the "couponing" products I've been sharing with the teens are popsicles which are loved by all ages. The only issue with this then is all the paper towel's they will want to go through wrapping their popsicles up. I very rarely even keep paper towel in the house since I hate how wasteful people are with it and of course I like to reuse everything so I stick to my reusable napkins and wash cloths.
I have even resorted to hand making my own cloth wraps for the popsicles but then I discovered a neat new product called Ice Huggy. "IceHuggy is an insulated sleeve designed for frozen ice treats, yogurt pops, electrolyte pops and sore throat coolers." These are great in so many ways! Ice Huggy keeps hands from getting cold while keeping your popsicle frozen longer. It is designed to fold down as you eat away your icy treats as well as acts as a sponge for when Declan leaves it sitting on the counter without me knowing.
It also saves all my paper towels from being "wasted" which makes this momma happy. I can also use this as yet another teaching point with the kids on how to be more green friendly around their houses. IceHuggy is made of a stretchy material so it can stretch to fit most frozen treats and is machine washable also. I had a difficult time putting our pediapops in it easily as they were larger and I had to squeeze them in. You are also supposed to be able to use these to keep frozen yogurt tubes cold packed in lunch during the school year.
Cost: $6.99 package of 2
Available to purchase: Ice Huggy
Retailer List
Recommendation: These are a great idea for any household not just if you have children but especially if you do. They work great, fit on a lot of different types of popsicles, and keep messes to a minimum. I love the fact that they are not expensive at all so they are easy to purchase several for everyone. I wish there were more color choices though.
