Derma e Microderm Abrasion Scrub and Scar Gel Review and Giveaway

I am generally a very low maintenance chick (at least in my eyes, lol).  I very rarely have makeup on and usually throw my hair up in a ponytail.  I have been fortunate to avoid a lot of acne on my face growing up.  I only really have just begun to notice some issues with it since having the boys and my change in hormones throughout the pregnancies.  I have, however, experienced it a lot of times on my right arm and only my right arm (weird right?).  As embarrassing as it is to admit, I know it happens and I have always struggled with it.

I recently went for a free facial exam with a group of girl friends.  It was mostly a way for the company to tell you how terrible your skin is and how you need to buy all their services and products at outrageous prices.  But surprisingly, they told me my facial skin was perfect (as all my friends walked away in embarrassment).  I wish now that I had thought of it then for them to look in their magic box at my arm because it would have been a different story.  So when derma e® agreed to let me review their Microderm Abrasion Scrub and Scar Gel, I was ready to see what it could do.

The smell of the scrub was a strong lime smell which was so refreshing.  I have tried it on both wet and dry skin as recommended.  I feel like it does a little extra work though with the dry scrubbing.  Now, know this...this is not for the weak or sensitive people.  I have very sensitive skin because of allergies but not sensitive to the touch (hence the tattoos).  This scrub can cause a little pain as you work it around your skin.  But thats what a microderm abrasion is.  Its scrubbing your damaged, dead, nasty, scarred skin away.  My skin felt beyond soft after my shower. They recommend using the scrub 2-3 times a week.  Although, I wanted to use it more!

The scar gel is unlike any other I've tried before for things like stretch marks and other scarring.  It is much more liquidy than most almost as if you were rubbing a thick water onto your skin.  It doesn't feel oily in the slightest and quickly soaked into my skin making it feel even softer.  They recommend you use the gel morning and night as the same time as using the scrub.  Now I have to say, I am not quite sure if it was the scar gel or my sensitive skin but I did notice more bumps on my arm if I used the scar gel more than once a day.  If I stopped they went away but again this could just be my skins reaction.

Derma e® believes that "beautiful skin is healthy skin, and we are committed to developing and producing the highest quality formulations to nourish and care for the entire body...We believe in healthy skin, a healthy world, and a healthier environment."  Everything we seem to use nowadays as beauty products, just aren't healthy for all of the things listed above.  They are either bad for us or bad for the environment or both.  WE need to start making better decisions about what we use and hope that our decisions help affect those of the younger generations.

Cost: $32.50 Microderm Abrasion Scrub
     $19.95 Scar Gel
Recommendation:  Do I think it worked, yes pretty good but it is hard to tell after only a few weeks but my skin feels better.   As a scrub alone I think over $30 is a high but for an alternate to actual Microderm Abrasion, the price is pretty decent although I do wish a little more came for the cost.  The Scar Gel, in my opinion is right on.  I highly recommend this company even with the pricing.  Even with them being a little pricy you are getting your money worth in quality!
