Char Crust Roasted Garlic Peppercorn, Java Buzz, and the Hickory & Molasses Review and Giveaway

As much as I love to cook, I get bored at times.  Even though I frequently try new things or change up my old recipes, I still feel like sometimes I'm using the same ingredients too frequently.  Generally I know that's what people do because let's be real who makes things they don't like?!  But I am always on the look out for  new recipes.  Thankfully, in my last search I discovered a company called Char Crust.

I was really excited to give these a try even with the weather cooling as we are still outside grilling (and will be until it snows).  Char Crust began in a Chicago steakhouse, Al Farber's in 1957 where "diners would literally beg to take our seasonings home.  Char Crust® dry rub is easy and fast to use! Simply dredge, sear, and serve. Use on any meat, seafood, or vegetable, and just broil, bake, grill, or even sauté©."

When Char Crust  first told me I could pick three flavors to try, it began a major debate in our household.  We all have such different likes when it comes to food so sometimes meal time can be difficult if I don't want to be preparing 4 different meals each night.  Available in 10 flavors, we finally settled on the Roasted Garlic Peppercorn, Java Buzz, and the Hickory & Molasses.

Char Crust takes a little getting used to at first because of the amount you are supposed to use.  But once you cook your first meal you won't care a single bit about dredging your complete piece of meat in it.  The first one we used was the Hickory & Molasses which had a great sweet flavor.  Even with adding the steaks to the grilled they were moist as anything.  The Char Crust did an amazing job of holding the juices into the meat.

The 2nd one we tried was the Roasted Garlic Peppercorn while making our chicken for our favorite dinner 'Caesar Salad Pasta'.  We completely coated our chicken in the seasoning.  Now Kevin wasn't a fan as he doesn't like anything spicy or peppery but I LOVED it.  Alana and I thought it completely complimented our meal!

The 3rd one had to be the Java Buzz.  Previously I have actually brewed espresso or coffee and used it to marinate our steaks with a few other ingredients.  I always tasted good but after trying the Java Buzz, I know something was missing to create that spark.  These steaks were very moist and almost tasted like they had come from a gourmet restaurant.

Cost: $5.49 - 4 oz packages
Available to purchase:  Char Crust
Recommendation:  Sure enough they were all great and I expect the rest to be as yummy as these three!  These are great seasonings for any style/level cook.   The pricing is pretty good but you do have to use a lot when cooking with these.  There are also several great recipes listed on the site as well that I'd recommend checking out.
