The Orb Factory My First Blinglets Review and Giveaway

The Orb Factory - Halifax, NS
My kids love to do crafts and experiments with mommy, so when we were given the opportunity to review the product My First Blinglets from the Orb Company, I knew they would really like them.  The Orb Factory is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  The Orb Factory was created in 1990 by Steve Kay  and began after Steve found success creating and selling The Celestial Orb, a wire transforming toy, at local craft markets.  New products were added to the line and soon The Orb Factory’s toys were being sold around the world.

My First Blinglets are part of the Stick ‘N Style collection of toys.  Add sparkling jewels and create your very own dazzling designs. These kits include purses, bangles, totes and more to wear, share and show off.  Since my girls are younger and love to wear bracelets, these looked like they would stand up to the wear they would give them.

The kit came with 8 large bracelets, two of each color (perfect so there was no fighting between the girls).   Mikayla (4) took her time making her bracelets, trying very hard to pull the jewels off the sticker sheet without leaving the sticky part on the paper.  Some of the beads were too small for little fingers to hold and stick on the spots of the corresponding number on the bracelet sticker.  It was difficult for the adults to get the pattern sticker straight on the bracelets, let alone when Mikayla was determined to do it herself.

When we decided to get the bracelets out and put them together, the girls had wanted their grandma and grandpa to do the craft with them along with mommy.   Once we got started, I was super happy and grateful I had extra hands to help the kids with the sticker jewels and placing the sticker strips on the bracelets themselves.   It was a little difficult of a task to keep them interested enough to put all the jewels on one of the bracelets.

Cost/Avaailable to Purchase:  $19.99 Blinglets
Recommendation:  This was a cute product; however I feel that even 5 year old's need to have larger jewels to use.   It was very difficult for tiny hands to place the jewels in the correct spaces on the bracelets and would recommend this product for older children, possibly 6 year old's.   In the end both girls loved wearing their bracelets and putting them on their stuffed animals.
