The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange: Escape From The Kitchen DVD Review

On March 12, 2013 (today) Gaiam released The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange: Escape From The Kitchen.  This unique and a bit odd show includes guests stars such as Tim Curry (The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and the late Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile).  This DVD will include the first 10 episodes of the hit series.

Starting out as a YouTube sensation, "the Annoying Orange made its television debut on Cartoon Network in 2012, drawing more than 2.6 million viewers and consistently winning its time slot in key demos.  With more than 1.3 billion views, Annoying Orange has become a true pop culture phenomenon."
The synopsis says "The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange: Escape From The Kitchen follows Annoying Orange and his band of produce buddies as they navigate the time-space continuum in their magical fruit cart.  From the Prehistoric Era to Colonial Times, Orange and the rest of the crew are dropped into random adventures and forced to squeeze their way out."

The annoying orange is exactly that just an obnoxious show.  I really had never heard of it until the opportunity to review the DVD came up.  Then my children actually explained to me that they had seen it several times at grandma's and apparently it was a regular show.

Price:   $14.93
Recommendation:  I thought it was pretty funny but definitely on the weird side.  Thank goodness the kids were not totally into this one like some of their other shows.  Although they enjoyed it we only had to watch the annoying orange and his crew every few days.  I don't know about spending $15 to buy this though.
Street Date:   March 12, 2013
