Disney Nature Wings of Life DVD Review and Giveaway

On April 16, 2013 the creative documentary Wings of Life was released from from Disney Nature on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Digital and On Demand.  This documentary comes just in time for Earth Day (April 22) and gives viewers a chance to see the planet from a different perspective.

The synopsis says "From Disneynature, the studio that brought you Earth, Oceans, African Cats and Chimpanzee, comes Wings of Life — a stunning adventure full of intrigue, drama and mesmerizing beauty. Narrated by Meryl Streep, this intimate and unprecedented look at butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, bats and flowers is a celebration of life, as a third of the world’s food supply depends on these incredible — and increasingly threatened — creatures.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg, Wings of Life utilizes riveting high-speed, time lapse and macro filmmaking to showcase in spectacular detail these unsung heroes of our planet."

At first I was definitely curious as to whether our family would have an interest in this film since Dane was the only fan of the last documentary type film we watched about nature.  I really expected to bored within minutes of starting the film and honestly so did everyone else.  We turned it on in the living room to watch while doing chores like folding laundry.  This was narrated from the perspective of a flower which was pretty neat.

I cannot believe how interested we all were in this film!  It truly had even Kevin and I's attention as there was whole new perspective given on these animals and plants.  I loved the the time lapse views as well as the close up detailed photos.  We all enjoyed learning TONS of facts that we have been sharing with other family and friends!!

Suggested Retail Prices: Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD) = $39.99 U.S. and $46.99 Canada
Recommendation:  I would recommend this for anyone with children or maybe someone looking to learn about the planet in a different way than the norm.  There were tons of interesting facts and the graphics and views were beautiful!
