EcoJarz Reusable Lids and Straws for Canning Jars Review and #Giveaway

Eco Jarz Logo
Being an environmentally conscious family, you all know we very rarely use paper/plastic anything in the Poole household.  In fact I spend most of my summer growing edible plants and canning the foods produced in order to make as much of my own foods as possible.  The one thing that stinks about canning (especially for all us eco friendly freaks) is that you cannot reuse the lids because they are not guaranteed to properly seal.  This kills me to A) have to throw them away regardless of recycling and B) to spend more money as all the canning supplies can become quite expensive.

Eco Jarz Silicone Lids and Stainless Steel Straws

However, I recently discovered a company called EcoJarz which not only keeps my family from using plastics or paper for their drinks but also gives my canning jars without lids a new purpose!  "The EcoJarz drink-top will fit any standard mouth canning jar – whether it’s an empty apple sauce, jam, or spaghetti sauce jar – and turn it into a glass to-go drink container!"
Because the lids are made of high-quality stainless-steel and an FDA silicone gasket they are easy to take apart and clean-just don't leave juice sitting in the jar for a couple days or it will be extra hard to twist off your lid (believe me I did this).  Toss it on any shelf in the dishwasher to clean and sanitize.

I love the silicone gasket which prevents spills or leaks since as you can see from my pictures even my youngest one loves to use these!  I also love the stainless steel straws which will honestly last my family a lifetime!!  These work great for any type of drink and I even enjoy sipping from the steel which cools when a drink passes through it!

Cost/Available to purchase:  $varies
Recommendation:  Definitely worth the purchase, especially when you look at the quality and endless possibilities.  These can be washed and reused just as easily as anything out there.  My only fear is that one of my destructive children will break this eventually which is why I use mine with a koozie to give it some padding.
