Seresto Flea and Tick Prevention Collar Review

        When you are a pet owner you have tons of things to worry about just as you do with having children.  The similarities are almost ridiculous between having one or the other.  You need to puppy proof your home to help prevent additional accidents or injuries as you would for a new crawling baby.  You also need to worry about health as a responsible pet owner.  Taking your pets to the vet for a regular check up and vaccines is very important.


        One of the things I would always try to be vigilant about with my pets is fleas and ticks.  Before I had children (or even a husband) I would let my dog sleep in bed with me and in fact preferred it since they were always so cuddly.  However, I was always very careful no matter where I lived to keep up on the flea and tick prevention's.

        Believe it or not, "A single flea can deliver up to 400 bites per day."  Fleas can cause serious skin issues, hair loss, intestinal parasites, and Anemia.  This isn't just to dogs but humans as well - yuck!  Ticks will actually anchor into the skin and their saliva can cause terrible things like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever in both humans and animals.

        Not only does the thought of bringing bugs into my house gross me completely out but having them cover my dogs and children causing who knows what kind of pain and disease, I'm not letting that happen!  So when Seresto contacted me a few weeks ago to see if I would be interested in completing a review of their flea and tick collar, I was all in!

        The Seresto collar repels and kills fleas and ticks for 8 months with just tossing the collar on your dog or cat.  This way you don;t have to remember a monthly medicine or a cheap collar that only works for a few weeks until the chemicals wear off.  "Seresto™ works similarly to a monthly topical, but as the active ingredients wear off over time, a new supply is continuously replenished in low concentrations. The active ingredients spread from the site of direct contact over the skin surface."

        Its even non-greasy, odorless, and water proof so you don;t have to worry about removing it for bath time or for your dog to swim.  I love that since my dogs are indoor dogs, I don;t have to worry about a funky smell from the collar or the children being around it.  And this came just in time for the start of flea and tick season here in Michigan so we are set for the season.

Recommendation:  Now I cannot tell you how well it works throughout the entire time since I obviously don't want to wait that long to complete the review.  I can tell you I didn't even notice the collar once it was on the dog.  I do think initially the cost seems extremely high but you have to remember the length of protection you are getting as well as quality
