Freedom Force DVD Review

You know when I first heard about a new movie coming to DVD from Verticle Entertainment called Freedom Force, I was thinking it would be another great super hero story for the boys to enjoy.  With voices from stars like Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Cruel Intentions, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), how could it be anything but great!?  On December 31, 2013, Verticle Entertainment released Freedom Force on DVD!

The synopsis says " A devious plot is under way to alter the writings of famed author Jules Verne to change the course of history! Accompanied by their trusted dog, a group of kids – unlikely heroes, but with special talents – are sent back in time to restore the beloved stories and secure their rightful place in history.

Their adventure takes them to the darkest jungles and cities deep under the sea … even to outer space! But the mission goes horribly awry when a mad scientist tries to stop them. Faced by colossal challenges along the way – including cannibals, runaway hot air balloons and a giant octopus – they struggle to set the record straight and save the world from chaos … While not mixing up anything as they go!"

Not only did this film make absolutely no sense as there was a lot crammed into it but it was quite crude if you ask me.  I consider myself to be quite open about most things but when one of the characters super powers is farting, I have to draw the line.  Considering I have two boys who already think its hilarious to do this, I hate to encourage them any further.

I truly hate that we were excited to watch this and it was a big disappointment.  My other complaint is that because it was a review copy, that was posted on the middle of the screen in white lettering.  Not only did this make it hard to watch and enjoy but it was kind of disappointing that they assumed someone in media would honestly copy it illegally.

Suggested Retail Pricing: $14.99
Recommendation:  I would not pay $15 for this or even half that because of the terrible story line, lack in manners, and quality - sorry.
