The PowerPot V + Lithium 4400 Battery Bank Review and #Giveaway

First and foremost I truly believe we need to start teaching our children how to survive without all the luxuries they have become accustomed to - you just never know what could happen in the future.  This is why I garden year round, sew as many things as I can, make as many of my own products, and use as little energy as I can.  I also teach my kids how to do these things right along side me.

Things happen and who knows with the crazy weather we've had this past winter.  I would actually not be opposed to something similar to the popular TV show "Revolution" where all the technology and power are taken away from us.  Even though my life revolves around technology, I think we all need to be put back in our places a bit and learn how to take care of ourselves, each other, and the planet.

In saying all that, I recently discovered one really awesome company that is there to help you prepare for something like this.  Power Practical was founded by a couple of friends (and material science engineers) sitting around a campfire trying to create a way to completely utilize all that a fire has to provide.  They created the perfect PowerPot!

Thankfully they were able to send me over a few of their awesome products to review including the PowerPot V and the Lithium 4400 Battery Bank!  These are both perfect for any catastrophe as you can actually charge your USB devices WHILE cooking up some food around the campfire!

The Lithium 4400 is a small wireless charger which can be used to charge any USB device on the go.  I love, love, love this product!  We have been using it for as many devices as possible since it arrived taking it with us every where we go!  Not only are you no longer confined by needing an outlet constantly but this little gadget even has a built in 4 LED lantern which can stay lit for 30+ hours if need be!

The PowerPot can be used with most any heat source including things like your campfire, wood stoves, or even a gas stove.  The wiring can "even can withstand much higher temperatures (500F+) and intermittent contact with flames."  It can start charging a device in as quick as 10-30 seconds and charges your device at the same speed as a wall out let.

This super easy to use pot can even cook food while charging although it of course works best with boiling water.  Broth and soups will charge your device too, just a bit slower.  Just make sure to run your PowerPot with a liquid inside otherwise you risk damaging the generators.  "Remember, the PowerPot ships with a limited lifetime warranty!"

Because of the prolonged winter, we haven't had the chance to go camping just yet with this but we were able to easily charge charge my daughters iPhone 5 with it while sitting around a campfire in the backyard one night.  This was both simple to use and small enough to carry around in a backpack or bag so you can take it virtually anywhere!

Available to purchase/Cost:  $59.99 Lithium 4400 Battery Bank
$149 The PowerPot V
Recommendation:  These can be used at home or while camping and of course if the world ever crashes and you need to help your family survive!  These are very reasonably priced for high quality emergency preparedness tools.

  3. We would def use this for an emergency if we ever have one!! This is such an innovated product...it's one of those "now why didnt I think of that?" products. It is so straight forward making it practical in a situation like camping or in an emergency in making food along with some fun like charging you phone or anything else with an USB like emergency radio.

  4. I would use these to power or recharge our tablet and cellphones while we are out camping. I am hoping this year we will be able to go camping and fishing, last year I couldn't because of health reasons. This doctor I am working with is getting the pain under control with Fentanyl and codeine so I think I might be able to do more than I was able to last year.

  9. Growing up in So. Calif. I know the value of Earthquake supplies. This could be a lifesaver in the aftermath of a major earthquake or even our wildfires. What a great product.

  10. If I win this I would use it to charge my work iPad so that I didn't have to hike in with so many back up external battery packs for longer work trips. (I'm an ecologist and am SO excited about this product after learning about it on Shark Tank!)
