Air Plant Shop Review and #Giveaway

#GetMOONed @MOON_Blogs Event Sponsor

Plants have become a major part of my life.  From growing them as part of my decor to growing as a necessity with the purpose of feeding my family.  You know never in my younger years did I think I would be saying that as I did not have a green thumb ten years ago.  Slowly though I have taught myself the tricks and trades of creating (and keeping alive) a beautiful plant.

When I discovered The Air Plant Shop, I knew I wanted to review one of their awesome plant products they have available Thankfully they agreed to send me several plants of my choice to review.  My choices included the following plant types: Victoriana, Fuego, Capitata Peach, Rosita, Houston, and Mexican Air Plants.

I was super excited for these to arrive as my mother is always growing unique plants like this in her home and it would give me the opportunity to compete with her awesome live decor.  Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed when these arrived for more reasons than one.  First off, I did understand that they would not be arriving in the bright and colorful state they are shown in the pictures due to bloom times/seasons.  It was still a bit of a bummer though.

Next, they do say they need to be soaked right away "in room temperature water for 30 to 40 minutes" which I of course did right away noticing mine arrived with the curled leaves.  Even though I have since glued them to the piece of bark since they arrived and soaked them once a week to keep them healthy, I haven't seen much of a change or "perk" in any of them.

Please though do not misunderstand this review as I actually love the look of my new edition, I just want every one to realize they may not come out as you expect right away.  I have had them for around 2-3 weeks time so there is still tons of time to see a new growth.  I have no idea when these will change color or bloom but I am definitely looking forward to it as I am sure it will make for a wide array of colors in my kitchen window!

Cost/Available to purchase:  $3.50-9.50 per individual air plant
Recommendation:  I definitely would recommend checking this site out as they have a huge variety of air plants and beautiful decor ideas.  I would however make sure if you are purchasing for a specific event to be sure they will be in bloom during that time so as to not be disappointed in colors.  I think the pricing is great for such a small company and a unique plant!!

  1. I would be most excited to win the GC to the Air Plant Shop. I love plants but I would share this with my daughter for her new house.

  2. I have been to a nude beach in Germany but as I am very modest, I was quite embarrassed. I did not set out to go to a nude beach but accidentally picked one that was on nude day. I left very quickly as I had my children with me.

  3. I would love to win these. I have a super-weak green thumb, but appreciate plants and would love to be able to have some in my house. Plus terrariums are neat.

  4. I don't have a favorite resort or beach. But I want to go to one of those places where the water is a beautiful teal.

  5. My favorite summer activity is riding my horses. We rarely go to the beach or resort because of the animals so I really don't have a favorite.
