I have been so fortunate to have two boys who have become quite predictable as time goes on. They have thankfully not changed their likes and dislikes too much over the years. Those of us with children know that when you have kids they grow out of things faster than you can blink an eye especially before age 5. Its amazing to me how quickly time flashes by.
Besides dinosaurs, Dane has also always had a fondness for any type of water creatures. We are constantly watching the television show "River Monsters" and forget about Shark week! The boys love watching everything and anything involving sharks, even the odd shows like "Sharknato".
So when I was I was asked to review the latest release -Surf Sharks, I was pretty excited and knew it would be something the boys would enjoy! I was sent over an awesome gift package to review which included Surf Sharks: The First Ride Book, a sticker book, 32 Surf Shark stickers with fun shark facts on the back, and a set of pop-up collector cards.
The synopsis says, “The first in a series of exciting new books featuring the adventures of three young sharks, Mavrik, Talon and Hemi, and three young boys, Rip, Ozzy and Wade, who share a love for the surf! This captivating adventure is filled with excitement,surprising characters, fascinating facts about sharks and amazing illustrations.”
The two boys truly enjoyed both reading the book but also putting together the pop-up collector cards with Daddy. Dane has made it appoint to memorize tons of the facts and reading the book has become a nightly tradition for the boys and Daddy. I love seeing them get so excited to hear about the story over and over each night!

Recommendation: Personally I think this was a cute book for any child who is into this subject or facts. I think it is a great way to present the information and makes for a very fun Summer type story!

ReplyDeleteI've read the book a couple of times and then I sent it to my Gr-Granddaughter in Wyoming. And I sent her a T Shirt and she loves them both.
