Red Gold Tomatoes Grilling Season Review and #Giveaway

As much as I love to cook, I get bored at times.  Even though I frequently try new things or change up my old recipes, I still feel like sometimes I'm using the same ingredients too frequently.  I love everything and anything spicy but my husband on the other hand is a wimp when it comes to that.   I am always on the look out for  new recipes especially during grilling seasons.  Thankfully, I was recently asked to review the awesome product from Red Gold tomatoes.

Not only do I already use a few of the products from Red Gold, I was sent over a few I hadn't discovered before.   I was sent over a variety-pack of tomatoes (including Diced & Green Chilies, Chili Ready, Basil Garlic and Oregano, Lime & Cilantro and Diced Tomatoes) with an apron and several recipes.  Now I usually mix these wonderful tomato blends with all sorts of foods but I had never thought of using them in a burger before!

If you know anything about me and how I like to cook, you know I don't like to follow recipes at all.  I love creating my own unique dishes using the inspiration of these different standard recipes.  So when I saw the Spicy Tomato Burger, I knew I was going to grill something along those lines!

Grab yourself the following:
1 lb - Ground Beef
1 - Can of Red Gold Tomato w/Green Chilies
1 tsp - Cajun Spice
1 tsp - Red Pepper Flakes
1 tbsp - Diced Jalepenos
OR
1/2 cup - Sliced Jalapenos (my preference for more of a kick)
  • First drain can of tomatoes and jalapenos.
  • Then combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and fold until thoroughly mixed.
  • Next form into patties, press flat, and set aside to grill
  • Once finished throw these bad boys on the grill for approximately 10-15 minutes
  • Cook to an internal temperature of at least 155 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Remove and dress like with normal hamburger toppings

Wow...amazing!  Very moist and almost tasted like these burgers had come from a gourmet burger restaurant.  I have already tried grilling the Basil Garlic and Oregano with some chicken for an italian dish that tasted tender and phenomenal itself.  I can also tell you that I plan to continue using these different tomato varieties in just about every dish I can think of, especially after trying some of these varieties for the first time.  I am also planning on getting my hands on the Red Gold salsas for the rest of my summer entertaining!

Available to purchase/Cost: $Vary depending on Tomato Variety
Recommendation:  These are great for any style/level cook.  The ones I tried were not extreme in any recipe and were easy enough to add to any meal and make it taste as if you had a gourmet chef at your beck and call!   There are also several great recipes listed on the site as well that I'd recommend checking out.  Just looking through these, I'm starving and brainstorming my next meal!

  8. I would most like to try the Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic & Oregano. I would use this to make an Italian style pot roast in the crock pot. You had the pot roast, 1 cut up green pepper, 1 cup up onion and then I would add 2 cans of this and slow cook it all day.
