Smart Lab Toys Review and #Giveaway - Smartphone Science and Solar System Adventure

SmartLab Toys - where toys and books collide
Having children in this day and age is so much more different than it was for the generation before us.  Children learn and use technology almost 100% of the time now.  This is more than a way of learning but also makes it more fun so to speak for them.  I was fortunate enough to previously work with the brand Smart Lab Toys where they mix fun and learning together in every product!

Thankfully, they agreed to work with me again for the School Spirit Event this year!  They sent me over two products - the Star Dome Planetarium and Smartphone Science.  Being that we are usually willing to try anything to get the boys interested in staying in their room, the Star Dome Planetarium was going to be a perfect gadget for the boys.  (My mistake of co-sleeping has become more trouble than it is worth.)

Dane has finally gotten to a point where we don't have to worry about him heading down the hall to our room in the middle of the night but Declan on the other hand almost always ends up there with us.  It's funny because I had actually always bought myself the glow in the dark stars and projection products before even having kids being interested in the way it looked myself.

Dane was thrilled about this one and could not wait to put it together!  I couldn't believe that this actually stood a whopping 3 feet tall once put together!  Included are double sided glow-in-the-dark star maps that show both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres as well as an 8 page book to learn what to look for.  I was a bit disappointed in the quality of projection BUT this was overall a really cool piece for their new room.

The Smartphone Science was a bit more technology related for the kids and their need for the smartphones nowadays!  This nifty little gadget attaches to any smartphones camera making it a microscope of sorts.  We were just as thrilled to get this one set up but a little disappointed in the quality.  Included are 20 hands on experiments for the kids to explore the world with their smartphone (or their sisters/parents phone).  While we thought this was a really cool tool, it was difficult to keep in place and see through well.

Available to purchase/Cost:  $19.99 Star Dome Planetarium
$19.99 Smartphone Science (not available yet)
Recommendation:   I think the pricing could have been a little more reasonable for the quality but both have been well worth the hours of fun the kids have been having especially staying in their own room with the planetarium!!
