When we first switched Dane from breast milk to cows milk, he flat out refused for quite a period of time. We had to struggle to find a good source of calcium, vitamin D, and all other vitamins vital to their development. With him being our first we had a harder time knowing what the best solution would be to make sure he was still getting the proper nutrients. It was a daily fight so when we knew we would have to start weaning Declan off the breast milk, we knew we better prepare ourselves for the same fight.
Thankfully having a little more knowledge this time, we still had the time to transition him through formula to get him used to the different tastes before he got particular with anything. With formula options like Enfagrow Toddler Transitions or Toddler Next Step Natural Milk Flavor, this whole transition was much easier for Declan and especially now for my nephew, Jaxon.
A lot of you I'm sure will disagree with this choice but in this time around, we would squirt a very small amount of chocolate or strawberry syrup into the formula about 50% of the time. Thus making our transition to a flavored cows milk virtually unnoticeable. We wanted to be sure he was getting DHA and iron which are not normally found in regular milk or especially juice (with all it's sugar content). Dane, "Mommy, you’re feeding Declan right?"
Me, "Yes, Dane."
Dane, "There's milk in your boobies right?"
Me, "Yes, Dane."
Dane, "Well is there white milk in one and chocolate in the other?" HaHaHa.
Me, "No hunny God doesn't give us that option for babies."
Dane, "Why not? We can have both so why not Declan?"

We are currently using this for my nephew who is one going through some quick changes as he grows so rapidly. Although he has struggled in the past with the digestion of formula and even breast milk.
