Flatten me Review and #Giveaway #HGG

Alright as a parent of an elementary school aged child you are always trying to encourage them to get excited about learning.  I truly believe this is the age where you set the education expectations for your children for their entire life.  They will either enjoy learning and work hard to get through any obstacles or they will continuously struggle and get discouraged throughout these obstacles.

So being that I feel it's so important to get involved and make learning such an exciting experience, I am always looking for new activities and games which the boys might enjoy.  I was lucky enough to be contacted by Flattenme for the holiday season and I cannot tell you how pumped I am!

"Our lives are defined by stories – stories of childhood, of triumph, of loss. Even wild stories of the imagination. When a child pretends to be a pirate or a princess or a fairy, she truly believes she has changed, become part of a different world for that moment in time. She has invented a new story of her own.

It is in this world – one of imagination, inspiration and gifts of the heart – in which flattenme was born. We seek not only to spark the imagination of a child, but to take a story which starts as a moment in time – a photograph – and then becomes something entirely new."

So when you think about all the imagination running through your child's head, I am going to tell you still won't be able to think up the excitement on their face when they first see themselves on the cover of a storybook.  We chose the the Pirates book which I thought would be perfectly fitting for the boys.

I cannot begin to explain the sparkle and surprise I saw in Danes eyes when he first opened this book as an early Christmas present!  He was in complete shock and almost didn't believe it until he saw his name as well a few pages in.  Even Declan was super pumped to see his big brother in the book.

I wish I could have included all three kids in it though as it would have made for an even better story/memory.  Though, the three children have not put this down since it arrived.  This has been a nightly tradition for Dane to attempt reading the first few pages and Alana finishes it!

Available to purchase/Cost:  $29.95 for paperback. $39.95 for hardcover
Recommendation:  I can't think of a better gift for a child at this age!  Its a perfect keepsake even for those not ready for reading!  I can't wait to get a few more for the other two kiddos.
