Little House On The Prairie: A Merry Ingalls Christmas arrived on DVD (plus Digital) and Digital HD on November 4th, 2014.  The Little House on the Prairie was a classic for the generation before me.  I remember falling in love with the show because my mother would watch it.  I feel as if it was the first of family sitcom/weekly shows to really make an impact in households. The characters were ones you could relate to in some way and it always left you with the warm and fuzzies at the end.

So when Lionsgate asked me to review another of the series - Little House On The Prairie: A Merry Ingalls Christmas, I was all about it.  Lionsgate has completely restored the series in high definition and this includes a special two original broadcast episodes.

"Celebrate the holidays with two classic “Little House” specials. In “Christmas at Plum Creek,” the members of the Ingalls family share a heartwarming first Christmas in their new home, and Laura makes a personal sacrifice that captures the meaning of the holidays. In “A Christmas They Never Forgot,” the family waits out a snowstorm by remembering favorite Christmases from the past."

Needless to say I was thrilled to hear about the release on DVD and knew it was something I would enjoy sharing with my daughter especially.  Filled with wholesome stories and lessons. It felt awesome to watch something like this again especially with the way TV show and movies are nowadays.  I have to say we thought all the episode were cute and a great way to spend a few holiday evenings together for a mother/daughter evening!  I am also looking forward to sharing this series with the boys.

DVD SRP: $9.98
Recommendation:  This is a classic which I am more than thrilled to now have in my home.  I believe that it is worth every penny to have something of a "quality" nature in everyone's home today.

Giveaway:  Lionsgate is going to give one of A Lucky Ladybug's lucky readers a Little House On The Prairie: A Merry Ingalls Christmas DVD of their own!

  1. One year when I was young my Dad had my Uncle bring some ponies for us kids at Christmas. It was totally unexpected . My Dad brought one pony into the shed and we were in awe. Cheryl Abdelnour cjabdelnour@hotmail.com

  2. My favorite gift was a boxed set of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. It was a great investment for my parents as I read it many times and then read it to my children and gave my daughter her own set. Sadly, she didn't care about it as much as I did but we are just two different people with different likes.
