GE Lighting Home Makeover Review and #Giveaway

        One of the first way's I feel like I learned to be more eco-conscious was through my light bulbs.  When, I was a single living on my own, it was through changing my light bulbs to the energy efficient one's that I started leaning the small ways I could make a difference for my planet.  Of course it wasn't until getting married and having children which I transformed into this tree huggin hippie!

        Now that we are finally in a new home, we are finally able to start working on "Growing into Green".  The house we purchased is an old farm house that while it has been updated still needs quite a bit of work.  With the help of GE, I know anything is possible AND within reach.  We definitely want this home to be as green as possible for the everyday individual and family.

         Thankfully with again the perfect timing, GE asked me to take part in reviewing more of their awesome GE reveal® LED light bulbs.  Making over a room (or whole house) can seriously be an easy task using a few simple tricks.  Replacing your old light bulbs being one of the easiest ways to change the way a room looks!

        The problem I think some people have is choosing the right light bulb to fit their needs.  There are literally thousands of kinds of light bulbs and walking into a store isle can be overwhelming.  There are quite a few factors you need to consider - Fit (for the appropriate outlet), Brightness (depending on the area of the home), Energy Savings, Life Expectancy, and finally the Color and Effect (depending on desired ambiance).

        We were pretty impressed with the difference the change in bulb made to the new house.  We moved in bringing our previous bulbs with us to continue saving since they all still worked great since the last review.  We've added the new ones to areas of the house where we have less natural lighting from windows.

        I know that sometimes it can be hard initially justifying the cost of energy efficient bulbs.  However, you spend less by replacing them less frequently.  I wish I could clearly show you our changes in utilities using these more energy efficient bulbs from such a dependable brand.  You will have to take my word for it though.  We've replaced zero bulbs since last years review which is great in my opinion and very cost effective.

Recommendation:  I think the pricing is right in line with something which is going to save you so much in the long run!  There is a huge variety to be found by this company which can help anyone save all around!
