TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait Review and #Giveaway

WoodStream : Terro
Way back in the day, when I had my first home, I remember my first ant "incident".  I was single with no kids and yet I made the epic mistake of not cleaning up a spill properly.  Low and behold here came the ants and with a force.  I had to try multiple sprays and treatments to get rid of these pests.  Now having children I am constantly vigilant about cleaning so as to avoid this from ever happening again.

Unfortunately, it's inevitable with little boys who spill and drop everything they touch.  So far I'd like to say we've been lucky over the years but then, I agreed to review another awesome product from one of my favorite brands Terro and that changed.  It's almost as if the ants knew I needed a sacrifice to put the products to the test.

As luck would have it, I was sent over the TERRO® Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes and TERRO® Indoor Liquid Ant Baits to review and the ants started to come out of the woodwork, literally.  I know that with the weather warming up and Kevin doing a lot of landscaping outside, we were bound to see some sooner or later.  But the ants literally seems to volunteer their lives in honor of testing the two products.

The TERRO® Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes were absolutely perfect for when Kevin came across the ant mounds in the yard.  Pre-filled with a sweet liquid ant bait.  Placing them near the mounds and other areas helps prevent the ants from even making their way into the house.  However, if they do (and they did) end up inside, TERRO® Indoor Liquid Ant Baits are a perfect solution.

Placing the station right where we started to see a few scattered ants, we were initially really freaked out since a ton more appeared almost instantly.  Then, I learned that the ant foragers "drop what is called a ‘trail pheromone’ back to the nest that lets all the other worker ants know where a food supply has been found".  Not only does the liquid in both baits kill the ants but it slowly kills them with enough time for them to spread it to the rest of the colony.

Cost/Available to purchase:  $7.99 TERRO® Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes
$13.58 - 2 Pack TERRO® Indoor Liquid Ant Baits
Recommendation:  Believe it or not both worked great!  Not only did we stop seeing the ants enter the home in general (I am guessing from the stakes) but the one's we did see inside, were toast within a day, never to be seen again! Get yourself some if you've got an ant problem OR just in case it becomes a problem!

  2. My problem is under control for the moment, but not too long ago I was inundated with ANTS in my kitchen...day after day! I used Windex to kill them, but that was only effective in getting rid of those that I could see.

  6. Our biggest pest is ants. They don't really cause trouble except for showing up to bite everytime we go outside. They also occasionally make their way inside our house, which calls for serious action.

  23. Ants, spiders and bees, oh my! Those are just the buggies we're having major issues with. The ants and spiders have taken over the house it seems and the bees have taken over the outside. We love the Terro indoor ant bait, it's the only thing that gets rid of the ants. Need to try the outdoor bait yet. If their spider and bee products work as well as the ant stuff, I need to stock up. ;-). Thanks for the chance to win an awesome product. Good luck to everyone!

  25. ANTS, ANTS, ANTS! Every year in the Spring through Summer months, we battle with black ants. They would get in the sugar, or if one of the kids left a cup on the counter, they would cover it. It was a nightmare. When it began, I tried Seven Dust around the outside of our home, other brands of ant/bug so called killers, and even home remedies such as cinnamon. None, I mean NONE of those worked! While at the store as my search continued for a repellent, I came across Terro. Ahhhhh my life saver!!! I can honestly say I wouldn't use any other!! I actually bought replacements today. A true relief to my problem! The ants trail in then leave to never return! Amazing!!!
