The Dog Who Saved Summer DVD Review and #Giveaway

Of course just in time for Summer, Lionsgate is releasing The Dog Who Saved Summer on DVD and On Demand on June 2nd, 2015.  It will also be available the same day on Video On Demand and Pay-Per-View.  With an all star cast like Mario Lopez, Dean Cain, Patrick Muldoon, it's gotta be a good one for the family!  I thought this movie would be perfect to get my kids excited for the Summer break!

The synopsis says "When former police K-9 Zeus (voiced by Lopez) accidentally destroys an important party, the Bannister family decides it’s time to send him to obedience school. Classes start off on the wrong paw when the no-nonsense instructor Vernon (Kove) and his Marine K-9 assistant Apollo (voiced by Zabka) fail Zeus on every lesson.

Fearing the pound may be his next stop, Zeus and the Bannister children (Capaldi and Jensen) enlist help from a janitor who teaches them his unique training methods that could help Zeus win “Top Dog” at the school’s showcase. Meanwhile, a familiar trio of bumbling burglars (Cain, Muldoon and Diaz) is planning a daring diamond heist. Zeus must outsmart the thieves, as well as his hard-nosed instructor, in order to win the big tournament and foil the jewelry robbery before it’s too late."

We have seen the other movies with the popular dog Zeus before and I knew this time around the boys would enjoy it again!  While completely predictable and a bit corny, I enjoyed watching the action and fun of Zeus. In the end Zeus of course saves the day!

SRP: $19.98
Recommendation:  My boys thought it was pretty cute take on Zues themselves.  I actually watched this a few times with both of them too if I am being truthful.  I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $20 for the DVD but it was definitely worth the watch!!
