Warner Bros. Entertainment May 5th Release Roundup Review and #Giveaway

I was happy when I was asked to review the two newest movies from Warner Bros. Entertainment - The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Sixth Season and The Originals: The Complete Second Season both released on September 1st, 2015.  Lately Alana and I have gotten into watching a certain vampire series together while she's been on Summer break.  Knowing that she had already started both the The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, I knew it would be our next series to catch up on soon!

The The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Sixth Season synopsis says “Over the years, there have been many artists who have put their own unique touch on Tom and Jerry cartoons. This collection recognizes the work of long-time animator Gene Deitch, who directed over a dozen shorts,” commented Mary Ellen Thomas, Vice President of Family and Animation Marketing. She added, “We’re delighted to bring these beautifully remastered shorts to collectors. If you are a fan of classic Tom and Jerry shorts or just love animation, this is a must-own DVD for your home entertainment library.”

Alana's Take:
A while ago, my cousin and I decided to have quite the marathon watching all four of the seasons of Vampire Diaries on Netflix.  We had hoped to catch up and watch season five which was currently on TV.  Unfortunately, life got busy and we forgot so when I found out we were getting the sixth season for review, I knew it would be one to catch up on once it arrived.  As a seventeen year old girl, I fell in love with Vampire Diaries from the start so it was awesome to catch up at my own speed.  I find it even cooler that the main character's name is Elena (uh-lay-nuh) which is also my name just spelled differently.  My favorite part of the show was watching Stefan go from the "good" vampire that everyone loved to the evil stereotypical vampire, making it a great plot twist.  The show keeps me on the edge of my seat as I never know what is going to happen next.

The The Originals: The Complete Second Season synopsis says, “As Original vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson returned to the vibrant, supernaturally charged city of New Orleans in season one, he was stunned to learn — along with his siblings Elijah and Rebekah — that Hayley, a werewolf, was pregnant with his child, and his vampire protégé, Marcel, whom the Original siblings had thought long dead, was ruling the French Quarter. Soon, a bloody war escalated between vampires and witches — the stakes raised by powerful teenage witch Davina and by Klaus’s bond with Cami, a student with a painful past — and a ruthless pack of wolves seized the opportunity to stage a violent coup. Now, in season two, a new status quo must be adjusted to, as the newly empowered werewolves control the city. Klaus struggles with weaknesses as Elijah desperately tries to save Hayley — now a hybrid — from a vicious spiral of self-destruction. Meanwhile, with the re-emergence of several Mikaelsons, “family is power” takes on new meaning."

Alana's Take:
Initially I didn't really get into the first season as much as I got into the first season of Vampire Diaries but because it was a spinoff got more indepth into the story behind Klaus and his brothers and sister, I wanted to continue watching it.  In Vampire Diaries, he was able to make a hybrid army for himself in hopes of revenge for what he has been through.   In the second season of The Originals Klaus is very protective of his baby Hope and as if he wasn't scary enough, he gets worse when you try to mess with her.  Klaus is still trying to get his revenge. in the Originals and one of these days he will get it.  The build up to his revenge makes me really excited to finally see him accomplish it.  I'm interested to see how The Originals plays out throughout more seasons.
