Warner Bros. Entertainment September 29th Release Roundup Review and #Giveaway

I was pretty excited when I was asked to review the two newest in series on DVD from Warner Bros. Entertainment - iZOMBIE: The Complete First Season and Jane The Virgin: The Complete First Season both released on September 29th, 2015.  Kevin and I had discussed watching the iZOMBIE series and had completely forgotten about when it had started so I knew it would be one we would love catching up on before the 2nd season.  Being that my best friend and I have had a weekly routine of watching a certain series that recently ended on sundays while the boys watch football, we've been looking for something new to get into.  Jane the Virgin couldn't have come out at a more perfect time than now to add to our Sunday line-up.

iZOMBIE: The Complete First Season synopsis says “iZOMBIE stars Rose McIver as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a medical resident on the fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a zombie. Now stuck between half-alive and undead, Liv transfers to the city morgue to reluctantly access the only thing that allows her to maintain her humanity — human brains. But there are side effects to Liv’s new diet. With each brain she consumes, she experiences flashes of the corpse’s memories — including, at times, clues as to how they were killed. Her boss, a brilliant but eccentric conspiracy theorist, encourages her to embrace this gift and to work with an unproven homicide detective to help solve these murders … and quiet the voices in her head."

"The 3-disc DVD set includes all 13 episodes from the first season, plus deleted scenes and Comic-Con panel."  Being that we are huge into the Halloween season and anything "zombie" related, we were psyched to watch this one.  Although a bit hesitant on the quality it might provide, we were happy to find it was actually quite interesting to watch Olivia figures out how to deal with her new "lifestyle".

Jane The Virgin: The Complete First Season synopsis says, “Set in Miami, Jane The Virgin follows the surprising and unforeseen events that take place in the life of Jane Villanueva. Jane (Rodriguez) is a 23 year old hard-working, religious Latina woman, whose family tradition and vow to save her virginity until marriage to a long time boyfriend and detective, is shattered when her doctor mistakenly artificially inseminates her during a checkup. And to make matters worse, the biological donor is a married man, a former playboy, and cancer survivor who is not only the new owner of the hotel where Jane works, but was also her former teenage crush."

"The 5-disc DVD set includes all 22 episodes from the first season, plus hilarious never-before-seen bonus features."  Of course from a woman's point of view, this is going to be one of those hilarious series that leaves you saying, "Really?!!?".  Tiffany and I knew it would be a good one to get into and even watch with my teenage daughter, Alana.  It's almost a show that makes you question whether or not this series of events could actually take place.  I definitely recommend it at least for a good laugh!
