The Originals: The Fifth and Final Season DVD

I was both sad and happy when I was asked to review the newest DVD set from Warner Bros. Entertainment - The Originals: The Fifth and Final Season releasing to DVD October 2nd, 2018. Because Alana and I have always been into watching the vampire series together on our one night a week (boy free), I knew this was one I had to get my hands on.  We've recently been so busy we hadn't had time to catch up on season 5 and to be honest I had no idea it was the final season.  So as sad as it is to say goodbye to this chapter, we've been pretty psyched to see how it all wraps up.

The synopsis says “The final season of The Originals begins seven years after the core members of the Mikaelson family – Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah and Kol – each absorb a quarter of the Hollow’s dark energy and flee New Orleans to keep their beloved city and young Hope safe.  In the interim, Vincent and Josh preside over the Big Easy almost devoid of conflict, while Hayley and Freya watch Hope grow into a teenager, eventually opting to send her to the Salvatore School so that Caroline can keep an eye on her.

With Marcel following Rebekah out of town and Elijah stripped of his memory, the danger seems to be contained . . . Until a sudden tragedy forces the siblings to return home.  As the Mickaelsons return to New Orleans, bringing the pieces of a centuries old evil with them, it becomes clear that the closing chapter of this family saga will be as bloody and emotional as ever.”

With a slight obsession for Klaus, I knew this would be interesting watching the way he handles the return of danger to his family and especially his daughter.  Klaus is very protective of his teenage daughter, Hope and as if he wasn't scary enough, he continues to get worse when you try to mess with her.  The build up to his revenge makes me really excited to finally see him accomplish it.  I'm interested to see how The Originals plays out throughout more seasons.
