JAWS Home Cleaning Kit Review and Giveaway

Jaws (Just Add Water System)
Ok so by now you should all know I make my own household cleaners and really anything I can to save money and help my family be healthier.  The only time I don't make my own is when I am reviewing products for certain companies.  In saying I only choose to bring in "certain companies" chemicals into my house, they need to meet a few of my trial requirements since I have made that change for my family.  I only want to try a product if it is safe for the environment, inexpensive (especially compared to making my own), and most important safe for my children and pets.  As usual I just discovered yet another fantastically green company - JAWS Just Add Water System!

Now this is one of those companies that is impossible not to fall in love with!  They have done their work and are doing their best to provide us with products that are in all ways possible helpful to the home and environment.  Each bottle is shipped empty to help with the cost of shipping and fuels.  Each starter kit comes with enough for 2 full bottles of cleaner making your cost approximately $2.50 each (which is an extremely cheap cost for such a system), and the refill cartridges ship in even smaller package reducing costs and only cost about $2 each.

I wanted to share the links to each of the studies completed by JAWS which I think everyone will find very enlightening if they have time to read a little more in depth.  These include:

*Environmental Impact Study
"The researchers found that the petroleum-based oil used in plastic bottles has a really, really negative impact on the environment. The effect that conventional spray bottles have on our landfills is outta control."

*Supply Chain Impact Study
"From the consolidation ratio of 1:30 (30 trucks of standard spray bottles to one truck of JAWS cartridges), to the reduction of warehouse space, decreased manpower and fork lift power; the conservation of precious diesel, gasoline and liquid petroleum fuels was totally mind-boggling."

The first product I tried was the JAWS Glass and Hard Surface.  This is great since it works on fingerprints, grease, and smudges - Something all of us mothers know a little too much about!  Since I make my own glass cleaner with vinegar it always smells terrible and honestly doesn't do that great of a job when it comes to streaking.  What a nice change this was to see that sparkle on the mirrors and TV.

Next product was the Bathroom Cleaner/Deodorizer and might I say how thrilled I was to have something safe AND effective like this in my house.  Lime, soap scum, and mineral deposits are so difficult to clean on top of the fact that my children spend quite a bit of time in these areas.  I want what I use to be tough AND safe especially since Declan is in the stage of licking everything he comes in contact with which worries me in the bathtub/shower.  We also seem to get the weirdest of buildups in this house as opposed to the previous home which was wiped clean by the JAWS Bathroom Cleaner

I was also given the chance to try Multi-Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser.  This product is fantastic in my opinion because the one great test I have for any cleaning product I use, it passed.  We all know what a pain it can be to clean the microwave right?  Not only do all the splattered foods back into the walls but there are so many twists and turns and crevices in our microwaves it is just impossible to get everything.  I have always cleaned mine by tossing a small bowl of water and a lemon or lemon juice in for about 2 minutes and then everything wipes clean without having to scrub it at all.  Well the All Purpose Cleaner worked exactly the same with the same great scent!

And last but not least, I tried the JAWS Disinfectant Cleaner Degreaser which "Reduces the spread of infection with this broad-spectrum disinfectant, guaranteed to kill 99.9% of germs".  This would be compared to a Lysol, used on any surface area where viruses and bacteria live such as door knobs, trash cans, light switches, and toilets.  Now I don't have a microscope to tell you if all the germs and bacteria are gone but using this solution I felt better about the cleanliness in these areas.

Cost:  Starter Kits (which include 1 empty bottle and 2 refill cartridges)
$4.99 - Glass and Hard Surface Cleaner, Multi-Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser, Bathroom Cleaner/Deodorizer
$5.79 - Disinfectant Cleaner Degreaser
Two refill cartridges
$3.99 - Glass and Hard Surface Cleaner, Multi-Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser, Bathroom Cleaner/Deodorizer
$4.79 - Disinfectant Cleaner Degreaser

Recommendation: Really for less than 2 bucks a bottle I can get a cleaner that is not only going to last me for weeks if not months but it is safe for my family, pets, AND the environment?!  I'll take it!  Well I guess not regular since I won't even have to order it that frequently.  This is a great company to give a try in my eyes!
