Perfect Pod EZ-Cup Review and Giveaway

Kevin and I have always been big coffee drinkers.  We have even gone through at least five coffee makers since we've been married.  Then a few years ago I discovered a new concept of coffee machines - pod makers.  I almost immediately bought my mother one for Christmas and slowly drooled over it through the next few months.  I had to have one for myself!

We have now had a Keurig for about two years and it is wonderful!  We love that we can have our hot (or cold) beverages anytime any way without worrying about an old pot of coffee or a blend one of us dislikes.  The kids can even have hot chocolate within seconds of us making our evening tea or coffee.  However I have noticed and very much dislike several aspects of the pod coffee concept.  Not only are the pods ridiculously expensive but they produce a huge amount of waste.  Being the green hippie that I am this is a big no no for me.

Thankfully I can worry a little bit less with my latest product discovery!  The EZ-Cup is a reusable coffee pod that allows you endless coffee choices since you can "Use any coffee in your Coffee Machines!  Self tamping spring extracts a better cup of coffee or tea." This is such a great idea as I can feel better about not having to throw away all those plastic k-cups anymore.  I can also spend less money purchasing coffee beans to grind or just ground coffee bags.

I love that I can even easily remove the coffee filter and used grinds and toss them into my compost unlike my normal process of digging into the plastic container, scooping the grinds and tearing the filter out which you can imagine is not only a pain but a huge mess!

This whole new process worked fantastic! There was little mess and it only took a few moments extra to scoop and pack the grinds before brewing.  I did however stumble over one issue so far.  You cannot fill the EZ-Cup with hot chocolate.  Water will not flow through it and you will end up with a big mess and very little in your cup.  Instead you will need to brew hot water into your cup and then add the hot chocolate mix to the cup.

Cost:  $12.99 Perfect Pod EZ-Cup

Available to purchase:  EZ-Cup
Recommendation:  If you own a Keurig, Nespresso or some other pod coffee maker, this is the way to go!  This is an inexpensive way to save even more money as well be a lot more green friendly!!  It worked great and I think everyone should have one of these for their coffee machines!

  1. This is an awesome idea. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I have many guests that DO drink coffee. I've debated with myself many times over purchasing a Keurig, but the cost and waste of the cups put me off. This makes it a valid option again.
