Monsters Inc. Ultimate Collector’s Edition Review

I was extremely excited to have the opportunity to recently review Disney/Pixar's "Monsters Inc.".  For the first time ever this "Ultimate Collector’s Edition" was released on February 19th on Blu-ray 3D.  This is a 5-disc combo pack which includes several bonus features including Toy Story Toons: "Partysaurus Rex" short and a "Monsters University" Sneak Peek (which we are pretty pumped to see in theaters)!

When Monsters Incorporated originally came out, I remember being so impressed with the level of detail which Pixar had used.  This was a movie I enjoyed watching over and over with my younger sister when we were teenagers.  Now I am able to share this movie in even better quality with my boys!  Even though I have been fortunate enough to never have the "I'm afraid of the dark" issue with my children, this is one of those movies that can really help put a child's fears at ease.
For those of you who haven't yet seen the movie, the synopsis says "“Monsters, Inc. is set in Monstropolis, a thriving company town where monsters of all shapes and sizes reside. Lovable Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and his wisecracking best friend Mike Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream-processing factory. The main power source in the monster world is the collected screams of human children—and at Monsters, Inc., an elite team of scarers is responsible for gathering those precious natural resources.

Believed by monsters to be toxic, children are strictly forbidden from entering Monstropolis.  But when a little girl named Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs) accidentally follows Sulley back into his world, he finds his career in jeopardy and his life in utter chaos. Assisted by Mike, the two pals plot to rectify the mistake and return Boo to her home.  When the trio encounters an unexpected series of complications, they become embroiled in a cover-up catapulting them into a mystery beyond their wildest dreams."
