Beatrice Munson Book Review

I am excited to share this next book review with you.  Beatrice Munson by Lorena Bathey is such a powerful story made to empower women.  This story takes place in a suburbia neighborhood, where all the women get together weekly to play bunko on Friday nights.  This neighborhood is very assimilated where everyone and their children have all the same interests and are involved in the same sports.  The women are mostly stay at home moms and have impeccable yards, homes, hair and attire.  That is until Beatrice Munson moves into the neighborhood and shakes things up.  Beatrice is a single lady and originally was from the area.  She had traveled the world and was finally ready to start a new chapter in her life.

One of the main character in the story is a divorced single mother of two, who has maintained her house but has always felt something was missing.  When Marissa finds out her nemesis from high school is moving in across the street, she is filled with mixed emotions.  Being a grown woman she didn't want to hold on to things from high school but she also was hurt pretty badly by Beatrice in the past so she wanted to be weary of her.  Armed with her plate of homemade cupcakes Marissa knocks on Beatrice's door, not knowing her life was never going to be the same.  As the newcomer Beatrice hosted bunko that Friday and changed the neighborhood forever...

Being that I am currently going through a divorce, this book drew me in and I love all the ladies of the neighborhood.  I can actually relate to their struggles and hope to gain the same strength that they have found to make my dreams a reality.  I have started trying to change little things in my life in order to make me happy and I have a wonderful support system just as the ladies have proven to be there for one another.  I love how one person came into a group of women and gave them the confidence to achieve their dreams and make themselves happy.  This is an amazing book with lots of  twists and turns that make you fall in love with these women, their lives, and stories.  I am almost jealous as I want to live in this neighborhood and have these women as my friends.

Available to Purchase/Cost: $9.99 Paperback copy
$3.99 Kindle Edition
Recommendation:  I really enjoyed this book and wanted to become friends with all the ladies.  I would love to join in on their bunko game nights.  This book has inspired me to want to start a weekly game night with my girlfriends. Just a chance for us to get together have a night away from the kids and husbands (those that have them).  My mother has this but they meet once a month and have been there for one another for births, deaths, grandchildren, weddings and divorces.  I hope to one day have this kind of fun and support with in my own group of friends.
