The Robot Garage - Birmingham, MI Review / Blogger Media Day Event

Are you running out of ideas to keep the kids busy this summer?  Tired of going to the splash pads, pools, parks and sitting inside at home or spending a fortune to take the kids to the movies? I know I am running out of ideas to keep the kids using their brain and doing things on a budget doesn't always allow me to take them to do what they would rather be doing so I am glad I heard about an awesome little place in Birmingham, Mi that seems to be the answer, The Robot Garage.

The Robot Garage is a family owned business and is like noting I have seen in this day and age.  You can bring your children here for up to two hours and only if they participate it a low $8.00 per child.  Because the creators and owners wanted a place where both parents and children can feel comfortable, everything is on the honor system.  This is so refreshing not only because you don't see this type of trust anymore but I'm sick and tired of paying for both my children to enter a specific play place and one sits on my lap and cries the whole time wasting my money.

The brilliant idea of this place is that there are no rules regarding what to build and how to build.  Their are no instructions just free imagination building. This is an awesome way to help keep those brains working all summer long.  The Robot Garage offers several types of camps as well to keep children active throughout the Summer and of course makes for a great escape during the school year with the smaller ones who aren't there just yet!
This is the city/town that the campers built in ONE week

All of our children had a blast, from the 15 year old down to the 2 year old!  They all loved manipulating the legos and other building materials to create items from their imagination.  We were also able to see a little of what was new in the land of building materials such as LaQ (cool linking pieces that can build flat, geometrical or be jewelry), and Zometools (ball and sticks that fit together based on shapes to make geometric shapes).  The kids all enjoyed working with both of these newer building materials that were available to work with as well as honestly the adults too.  This is a wonderful escape from the normal routine of summer fun.

One of the best perks about going to The Robot Garage is that after all the creativity and spending time building something totally awesome, you can even take home your creations!  You only pay by weight  and let me tell you it really isn't very costly.  While we were there we created a little car which you can see in my pictures below and it only cost $5 at most!  We can not wait to take a trip back there!!
