Home Complete Entertaining Products Review and #Giveaway

Coming from working in restaurants for half my life I have become used to using certain tools when cooking regardless of my experience or knowledge.  I was recently asked by Home Complete to review several of their products which I was more than glad to add to my list of kitchen gadgets.  These three items included the Spiralizer Spiral Slicer, an Ice Ball Maker Mold, and the Digital Meat Thermometer.

One of those tools I previously mentioned not being able to live without has always, always been a thermometer.  I can honestly say by just touching and looking at a steak, how it is cooked and even what temperature it is at (or any other meat for that matter).  It is just something you learn after spending so much time in a kitchen and at a grill.  However, that doesn't mean I prefer to make my educated guess and especially when my cooking reputation is on the line.  With how frequently I cook for family and friends, I don't want to take chances on anyone's health.

The Home-Complete Digital Meat Thermometer has an extra long stainless steel probe which instantly reads the temperature (ranging from -58 to 572 degrees Fahrenheit). This one is so much easier to use than the two I previously had.  I always had trouble temping on the grill because of how short they were.  Regardless of where I am, you will find me using my new thermometer to be sure my meat has been cooked to temperature.

I've always been a bit curious about the whole ice ball concept.  How does it work? Does it actually work if your not some professional ice sculptor?  And honestly what is the reasoning behind having these ice spheres?  I recently learned quite a bit about how super easy these are to make and how much more efficient they are than regular ice cubes.

With a food grade tray, you pour water in through four small holes and fill completely.  I do wish there had been a mini funnel which came with this to make it easier since I had water everywhere in the tray.  The Ice Balls are slow melting because of the surface area which helps keep your drinks colder longer!  I have to say these came out looking pretty cool and I felt like a pro!  I even started brainstorming for my next party thinking about adding something weird inside the sphere to make them look even more unique.

I was super excited to come across the Spiralizer Spiral Slicer.  Not only is this supposed to help create healthy alternatives for most people looking to reduce their calories but it is also supposed to be a super fun way to prepare foods in a decorative way.  The Spiral Slicer should work in a similar concept to that of a pencil sharpener where as you turn the vegetables and pieces come out the other end in a curling matter.

This tiny gadget is made of Japanese stainless steel blades and an enforced ABS Plastic Frame which is dishwasher safe.  It is made to create two sizes of Julienne strips without hesitation.  Although I have not had the easiest time using this gadget on the store bought potatoes I had on hand I have yet to try it with a softer vegetable.  Most of my garden vegetables haven't sprouted yet and I try to only buy vege's in the summer if I have to.

Available to Purchase/Cost:  $15.99 Best Digital Meat Thermometer
$7.99 Best Ice Ball Maker Mold - 4 Ice Balls
$14.99 Best Spiralizer Spiral Slicer
Recommendation:  I have to say the pricing on these gadgets is very reasonable for the quality.  Some are not necessities especially if you don't entertain often but if you are looking to add a few extras, I would recommend doing so from Home-Complete.

Giveaway:  Home-Complete is going to give one of A Lucky Ladybug's lucky readers one of each of the tools I received of their own!
