Prepara Kitchen Tools Review and #Giveaway

I love me some kitchen tools! If it's available and it is going to make my life any easier, you know I want it. I love to have every and any available option when preparing my family meals. Being that I cook five plus days a week AND I use mostly fresh ingredients (from my garden if possible), I love having a wide variety of tools to create the best possible meals from my family.

Because I come from quite a long food/restaurant background, I pride myself in working with such unique brands like Prepara.  I consider myself to be a self starter in the kitchen and now a Blog Ambassador for the brand.  I love to cook, grill, bake anything and especially from scratch with the freshest and healthiest ingredients I can find.  Of course, I do this by working with the tools Prepara has created to make my experiences in the kitchen easier!

This is a brand which is constantly updating their gadgets to keep up with not only the latest trends but that will make life less complicated in the kitchen.  I was recently sent another variety of prep tools for review from Prepara to use for all of my kitchen adventures.  These items included the - Basting + BBQ Set, Chop Savor 3 pack, 3 Blade Herb Shears, Salad Chopper, Produce Wash, Herb Savor 2.0, and Better Batter Beater.

Every weekend morning and some weekday mornings, you will find me making a breakfast from scratch for my kiddos and husband.  This is an easy task itself but it just got easier.  Now I keep my better batter beater handy on the counter so I can easily whip up some scrambled eggs or pancake batter!  There is even a rubber edge which scrapes the bowl easily while you mix.  I love, love, love this tool and how easy it is to use and even rinse.

I love salads - plain and simple.  I do NOT like buying the pre-chopped lettuce you can find at the store though!  While I haven't been able to grow large quantities of lettuce, you can find me buying heads of lettuce at the grocery store.  I've learned that in doing so, the taste of your salad is directly affected by the way you cut your lettuce.

I learned a while back that the lettuce pieces will actually stay crisp long if you break it or chop it versus slicing it with a knife.  If you pay attention, the lettuce gets badly bruised by slicing.  The Salad Chopper has three "grips for versatile cutting" made of a nylon construction designed to avoid damaging any plates or bowls as well as keeping you lettuce from bruising or browning!

The Chop Savor 3 pack has been something I've wanted for a while because of the similar product my mother owns.  I am always chopping up half a tomato or half of my lemon and then having to throw it into a baggie to keep it from getting nasty in the fridge.  My mother has a set similar to this but nowhere near as efficient!  The base on this container is actually a cutting mat and the top is collapsible for storage in most places.

I've been eyeballing the 3-blade herb shears for quite some time now.  As I previously mentioned, I am constantly grabbing fresh ingredients from my garden and especially herbs to use in my meals, and this is something I would easily use to chop my fresh basil for the spaghetti sauce I make and can!  Not only does this work perfectly and efficiently, it adds that fresh taste to anything!

Because we grill constantly, I was quite excited to have the Basting + BBQ Set.  This little container/brush is completely portable using a one handed dip and go system!  I love that I can use this for oil kept right next to my stove in the winter or with an ingredient like butter or BBQ sauce to easily carry to the grill during the Summer!  There is virtually not spilling, dripping, or messes of any kind using this one!

As I've mentioned before I love using the herb savor for any of my clipped herbs AND for my asparagus bought at the store.  I am also super pumped to have the produce wash for more reasons than one.  I don't like buying produce from the store but it obviously has to happen, I have no idea where it's been or what has been done to it before it ends up in my home.

I also garden using worm compost at home which essentially is worm poop.  While great for the soil, this can be a bit gross of an idea.  So when I bring any produce into  I want it to be clean as I can get it to ensure the safety of my family!  This "remove waxes and contaminants" in 30 seconds by rinsing.  This is the perfect way to get healthier foods onto your families plates!

Available to purchase/Cost:  Prices Vary depending on Kitchen Gadget
Recommendation:  I love all these tools and in discovering this set of them I know my next purchase from them is going to have to be the herb shears, topper chopper, or even an additional herb-savor!  Definitely head over to Prepara's website to check out more really awesome tools.

  2. I am most excited about trying the Basting + BBQ Set. This look easy and convenient to use without having to carry your whole thing of sauce with you. I also like the food wash. This is something I would always use. You never know where your produce has been after buying it from a store.

  3. The very fist thing I would make with these goodie tools is what I have deemed "Swamp Taters" As when I created this recipe we lived in the Sunshine state near a swamp. They are yummy but full of calories & carbs. (I know but GOSH they taste good & sometimes it is ok to splurge)

  10. We would use the batter beater for preparing our pancakes that we have at least once a week, the lettuce chopper for a salad, and the rest for dinners during the week. I am planting some herbs for an indoor garden, so the shears would be great for that.
