TheO SmartBall Review and #Giveaway

Physical Apps
Technology has become a huge part of my growing children's lives and honestly most children of today.  While I love the opportunities my children have that I might not have had growing up because of technology, it has hindered today's youth when it comes to keeping active.  I want to lead as an example for my children and I want them to know how important fitness is in living a long, satisfying life!

That being said, I am always trying to look for new ways to get more active with them.  So when I was asked by Physical Apps to review theO SmartBall, I was intrigued by the idea behind it!  "TheO SmartBall is a soft foam ball that uses revolutionary technology and your smart device to entertain and educate your kids."
Designed for early learning, TheO SmartBall is a ball which you can slide your smart phone or iPod into after downloading any of the many apps available.  Children can then play with the ball using the educational apps without causing harm to your device.  There are apps in every category you can imagine from Math and English to Music, Animals, and the Human Body.

My kids enjoyed the apps quite a bit and have already begun asking us to download more.  However, I am not a fan of the ball itself.  It claims to easily fit several large style devices.  But, Kevin's phone doesn't fit into the ball (Droid Mini), mine requires shoving it in so much that buttons are pressed and getting it out is virtually impossible (Samsung S4).  The only device that remotely fits is an iPod and even still, it is difficult to get in and out.

Available to Purchase:  $59.95 TheO SmartBall
Recommendation:  While I love the apps and the fact that they are free with TheO SmartBall, I would not pay $60 for the ball.  It is really just a foam ball that barely works efficiently with most devices and is not worth that cost to me.

  8. I currently homeschool my 4 year old son. Sometimes, he gets restless doing workbooks. This would be safe way for him to utilize educational apps while feeling like he was playing. I love the idea that you can use an old phone that doesn't have cell service.
