Franklin's Popcorn Gourmet Popcorn Portion Packs Review

You are all aware by now that we are a family full of movie buffs.  The kids alone have over 200 DVD's in their collection and who honestly knows about how many we actually have.  If I had to guess, I'd say close to 1,000.  My point in tell you this is that over the years, sitting around the TV watching movies together has become a family tradition for us.

Years ago, we decided it was a necessity to buy our own Retro Kettle Popcorn Maker.  Not only was family movie time a tradition but having popcorn curled up on the couch together was too!  Besides movie time, popcorn is the kids favorite snack and is made almost daily in our house.  I'll take them eating popcorn daily rather than candy!

While popcorn itself isn't loaded with sugar and calories, the things you add to it can be unhealthy when in large quantities.  So when Franklin Popcorn asked if we would be interested in reviewing their Gourmet Popcorn Portion Packs, I knew it was something that would be perfect for my family.  Made from 100% coconut oil and organic popping corn, I was also very curious as to the taste.

You can purchase a 2 oz, 4 oz, 6 oz, 8 oz, or 12 oz packages from Franklin and each is pre-portioned in a trifold package including kernels, oil, and seasoning.  USA packaged and grown in Iowa, Franklin Popcorn is truly an american made tradition.  It's even gluten free, 100% vegan and kosher with no GMO's.

I have to say once this arrived, we tossed our other popcorn aside to give this a try.  The flavor is awesome and honestly tastes better than what I was using previously in my opinion.  The kids haven't noticed a difference except for the fact that they can make the batches easier on their own since it is all pre-portioned.

I was a bit frustrated with the packaging myself but that is my only complaint.  There is no easy tear spot so it has to be cut and we usually put our seasoning on after it cooks/pops and being that was the middle portion I had to cut both sides.  Then maneuver the kernels out as well as the butter.  Just a little more complicated than tear, pour, and pop.

Available to purchase/Cost: $31.95 Franklin's Gourmet Popcorn Portion Packs for 8 oz Popper (Pack of 24). 100% Coconut Oil and Organic Popping Corn.
Recommendation:   My overall opinion is not that everyone needs one of the makers in their households but they definitely need the Franklin's Popcorn on hand!  Not only is it cost effective and tastes great but healthier for you in several ways!
