Mike and Ike® Limited Time Flavors/Hot Tamale Review

I don't tend to eat too many sweets because of watching my weight but when I do I am extremely particular about my favorites!  And you better believe my kiddos are obsessed with candy when I will allow them to have it.  Mike and Ike's have always been that brand of candy that almost brings back memories instantly of my childhood.

When recently asked if I'd be interested in reviewing the old flavors brought back from Mike and Ike, I knew the kids would love giving these a try.  For a limited time Mike and Ike® Root Beer Float and Cotton Candy flavors are back for every one to enjoy.  There is even a limited time holiday mix available inspired by the popular movie - the Minion Mix.  Plus, don't forget the Hot Tamale's for those of looking to add some spice into our lives!

"MIKE AND IKE® is a Brand of fruit-flavored Candies first introduced in 1940 by the company Just Born Inc.  Popular flavors include: Original Fruits, Berry Blast, Jolly Joes, Zours, Tangy Twister, and Strawberry Reunion and more.  Just Born Quality Confections is a privately owned company founded in 1923 and headquartered in Bethlehem, PA, where it manufactures PEEPS®, HOT TAMALES® and MIKE AND IKE® Brand Candies. GOLDENBERG’S® PEANUT CHEWS® Brand Candies are produced in Philadelphia, PA.  All Just Born candies are made in the U.S.A."

Dane is obsessed with root beer so I pretty much figured he'd jump on this flavor before anyone else got a chance.  The best part is the Mike and Ike's only have 140 calories per serving and 0g saturated fat.  So I don't have to worry about the kids loading up on calories (or myself when I sneak a few to snack on).

Declan thoroughly enjoyed the Cotton Candy flavor himself and Dane killed through the Root Beer flavor before any one else could give it a try.  Our family favorite was the Minion Mix though.  While our family doesn't tend to be huge fans of the Hot Tamales, I learned there are tons of recipes you can add these to in order to add a huge pop of flavor.  I also learned there are tons of new flavors other than the traditional cinnamon.

Available to purchase/More Info:  $1.00-$1.39 Hot Candy Fun

Recommendation: I definitely recommend checking out all the creative flavors and recipes you can create with both of these candies.  At this point, you'd be crazy not to at least buy a box or two try if you've never had them yourself.  These make the perfect stocking stuffer, Valentine's gift, or easter basket fill!  My mouth has been watering through this entire review!
