My Little Pony – Friendship Is Magic: Adventures Of The Cutie Mark Crusaders DVD Review and #Giveaway

Personally, I always love reviewing the latest in the My Little Pony series.  Not only because it is somewhat of a classic from my childhood but because of the valuable lessons it teaches children. My Little Pony always has lessons about friendship, overcoming challenges, and the importance of working together.  On February 24th, 2015, Shout Factory Kids, in collaboration with Hasbro Studios, will release the most recent to DVD, My Little Pony – Friendship Is Magic: Adventures Of The Cutie Mark Crusaders! This collection will include five episodes and a sing-along as well as coloring sheets for the kiddos.

The synopsis says "In EQUESTRIA, obtaining a CUTIE MARK is an important coming-of-age moment for a young Pony. After all, Ponies acquire their CUTIE MARKS only after they discover a unique characteristic about themselves, setting them apart from all other Ponies. So when Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom meet, they instantly become friends and make it their mission to find their CUTIE MARKS! They are The Cutie Mark Crusaders!"

This one is all about discovering who you are, showing that everyone is different and we are all special in our own way.  Also teaching children how great it is to try new things, you never know what your passion could be and you could surprise yourself. The boys love watching My Little Pony and in this DVD, the other ponies their age have all received their cutie mark, so of course there is bullying.

The three ponies handle the bullying in a positive way, by letting it be their motivation to discover what is unique about themselves individually. I love how easily the boys can learn from these examples and that they will actually point out what could be done to prevent something from happening while they watch the show.  I think this teaches kids that being different is not always a bad thing and just because someone is different, that never gives you the right to make fun of them.  Both myself and Alana thoroughly enjoy watching this with the boys too!  I just love each one of the characters and the things they stand for.

Recommendation:  I would definitely recommend this DVD to anyone as I've even caught myself watching it alone without kids in the room!  There were funny moments throughout that we were all able to laugh at as well parts where the kids pointed out what the ponies should do to help the situation!

Giveaway:  Shout Factory is going to give one of A Lucky Ladybug's lucky readers My Little Pony – Friendship Is Magic: Adventures Of The Cutie Mark Crusaders DVD of their own!
