The Aviators DVD Review and #Giveaway

When I was first asked to review the newest movie from Cinedigm and VIVA Pictures, called The Aviators, I swore I had watched a similar movie as a child myself.  I figured with that being said, it would be perfect for our family to watch together. Arriving to Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD on February 3rd, 2015, The Aviators features popular voices like Brad Garrett and Jeff Foxworthy.

The synopsis says "Join The Aviators in this thrilling and patriotic tale based on an incredible true story. When life on a peaceful farm is disrupted, a brave group of carrier pigeons and their quirky mouse friend (Jeff Foxworthy) team up to defeat the enemy. Following their fearless—and feathered—leader (Brad Garrett), the unlikely heroes work together to save the lives of American soldiers."

It's even based on a true story set during World War I, so the kids were excited to watch something a little different than the fantasy cartoons we are used to.  Not only did we all enjoy the fact that it started on a farm (like where we just moved to) but that there was tons of action and a large sense of loyalty.  This was the perfect family movie night flick!

Recommendation:  I thought the story was pretty awesome and while I can't remember if I actually watched something with a similar story line before, I thought it was great for the whole family.  The kids loved the action and that the setting was on a farm.

  6. The most memorable movie in my childhood was To Kill a Mockingbird. To Kill A Mockingbird has survived largely untarnished for 51 years, with neither changes in film technique nor wider social changes serving to blunt its powerful message or diminish its memorable characters. Through the steady hand of Robert Mulligan and the brilliance of Gregory Peck, Harper Lee's beloved novel is wonderfully realized in a film which is equally graceful, playful and heartbreaking. It remains, with 12 Angry Men, the standard to which all courtroom dramas aspire, and is a genuinely fine piece of drama in its own right.
