"Growing a Green Planet" Giveaway
We were recently asked to review Yellowbird which will be available on DVD, Digital HD and On Demand from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, on April 7th, 2015.  The boys obsessed about the movie birds of paradise and being this is from the same movie makers, I figured there would be a good chance the kids would enjoy it just as well.  There are a lot of big names like Seth Green (Austin Powers franchise), Dakota Fanning (The Twilight Saga) and Danny Glover (The Color People).

The synopsis says "Just when it’s time to migrate to Africa, Darius (Glover), the elder of the flock, is wounded.  He will have no choice but to share all his secrets, wisdom and new flying routes with the first bird that happens to come along. The candidate is none other than Yellowbird (Green), an eccentric little fellow, super excited about the challenge, but without the slightest hint of knowledge or natural talent for migrating whatsoever."

The boys thought that this was a great movie and it has quickly become one of their favorites to pick out at movie time. I did not watch it myself but Alana did and actually really enjoyed watching it herself.  This movie teaches kids that you can't do it all yourself and that working together can be just as productive.

Cost:  $19.98 DVD
Recommendation:  I thought the quality of the film was super colorful and the story line was a sweet one with some really great lessons for the kids.  I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $20 for this though.

  1. I plant all sorts of flowers and vegetables every year when it is the right time of year for our area. I really like eating a different bunch of types of tomato's every year.
