Warner Bros. Entertainment February 2nd Release Roundup Review and #Giveaway

I was pretty excited when I was asked to review the two newest in series on DVD from Warner Bros. Entertainment - LEGO® Friends: Girlz 4 Life and Elmo's World: Elmo Wonders both released on February 2nd, 2016.  The boys are huge into LEGO anything so even with it being geared towards girls more, I decided it would be a good one for us to watch together.  Of course with Declan's love for Elmo, it was an obvious choice for our house.

LEGO® Friends: Girlz 4 Life synopsis says In LEGO® Friends: Girlz 4 Life, our friends must devise and execute a plan—and fast—when popstar Livi’s manager steals the girls’ hit song: Girlz. As Livi gains more fame and recognition from the new hit single, the girls try to share the truth behind the song in hopes that Livi will do the right thing. As the friends set their plan into motion, they come to realize that fame doesn’t mean everything and friendship is the most precious thing in the world! Join Olivia, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Andrea as they learn one of life’s most important lessons while having fun along the way."

When I first mentioned it to the boys, they were both quick to point out that it was a girls show.  However, it provided my family with yet another talking/learning point about stereotypes.  I explained to both of my sons that just because it is typically "girls show/favorite/sport/activity" OR a "boys show/favorite/sport/activity" does NOT mean it can't be both.  After the conversation, we ALL enjoyed watching this cute DVD

Elmo's World: Elmo Wonders synopsis says, “In Elmo’s World: Elmo Wonders, Elmo wonders all about the exciting and adventurous world around him. Sesame Street’s curious red monster takes preschoolers on a journey to learn all about the sky, weather, doctors, bicycles, jumping and many other things inquisitive little kids like yours ask questions about."

With Declan in his first year of school and it being quite the 'interesting' year, I felt this one was perfect for him to learn all about exploration.  Exploration is more than just about school or adventures, but the world around him as well as himself.  This was adorable and we had a lot of fun watching it with my nephew as well who is in the 'Why' stage.
