Murbles Game Review and Giveaway

SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT "GET MOVING 2013" BLOG HOP EVENT

We are usually quite the game playing family.  We spend at least once a month having a friendly get together with several other families.  We are also very active throughout the year especially during the Summer.   We use any excuse to spend time outdoors we can find which includes a lot of Summer parties.  Usually this means some pretty competitive lawn games!  I've been trying lately to find something a little different and new to us which is how I discovered Murbles!

Murbles were created in 1979 "when Murray Kramer was in college in Michigan."  Because there was an older gentleman next door that he used to play horse-shoes with and constantly lose, Murray decided to make his own game.

Murbles is a game very similar to the European game of Bocce Ball.  "A Murble is basically an oversized marble used to play the outside game of Murbles (Murble is short for Murray’s marbles)."  It can be played with 2-4 players or even now sets for 6 and 15 players for play grounds and schools.

I have to say when I first picked out marbles, my original thoughts were a family game or a lawn game for the adults.  But then it came and it almost seemed as the children took it over especially Declan.  But because it is a great way to get them up, outdoors and keeping active, I could care less!

We have played the games several times as a family indoors and can't wait for the weather to warm up here in Michigan so we can get outside to play.  It actually proves tricky playing it in the house with all the obstacles and the kids have to be closely watched as the Murbles are by no means soft so as to not break anything!  Declan loves to play with him in his own version by tossing them into laundry baskets that we spread out on the floor in the living room for him!

"Murbles are proudly 100% AMERICAN MADE with a focus on quality craftsmanship. Murbles are high-density 3 inch diameter solid plastic balls made with recycled material."  They even come with their own canvas carrying bag so they are easily kept together and make for easy travel to and from home.  Another awesome perk is that they are available in 20 different colors so you can pick which you like the best!

Recommendation:  I thought these were the perfect games for the boys since I am always trying to get them out and playing more!  I cannot stand video games and how much children play them.  Like I said I cannot wait to share this with others and play with friends and family in the coming weeks once its warm!
