How Communities Get Prepared for Emergencies

*Read my Disclosure
Emergencies that can impact a community come in many forms. They can be natural disasters, like tornadoes or hurricanes. They can also be health related, like epidemics. In today’s world, they also can be terrorist related. While nobody wants to see their community threatened in any way, the best defense is always a good offense. That is why communities need to have solid emergency preparedness plans in place.

Welcome to the Growing a Green Planet Giveaway!!  I have to thank each and every wonderful sponsor who helped truly make this giveaway event possible!

Please be patient with our bloggers websites and load times since this is such a large event.  The forms may take a little extra time AND it may seem like this one has a little extra work to enter.  Even though each of the packages have their own giveaway form, you will find that most of the entries are identical.  This way if you like/follow a page in one you will already have it done for the next!

The Complete Book of Home Canning Book Review

You might not know that I am crazy obsessed with my edible gardening and creating a lasting homestead for my family.  Of course we buy very little produce throughout the summer because of this and what we don't eat I either freeze or can.  As a Restaurant Manager, Foodie Blogger, and Green Living/Gardening Enthusiast, I feel like I know a lot of recipes using ingredients from the garden.  However, I am always looking for new recipes for my family, new foods to can, and how to do so safer and better than each last batch.

Kidecals Labels and Canning Labels Review

I first heard of Kidecals from another blogger when I started doing research online for back to school labels for Dane this year.  Being that most school teachers ask you to label things anyway and that we are starting a new school district this year with the move, I just figured it would be better for the kids.  I have a friend who just uses permanent marker on her kids things but to be honest, that idea has never appealed to me.

Thursday

Ark Survival Gear Survival Seeds Pack Review

ARK Survival Gear
Because in Michigan we don't get much of a summer, I usually start my seeds early in the year so they are ready to be transferred outside early spring.  This year, not only has the Polar Vortex messed up the weather terribly in the Midwest but we have had so many scheduled close dates, that we never had the opportunity to plant outside.

Wednesday

Grub Hub USA The Ultimate Camp Kitchen Review and #Giveaway

The Ultimate Camp Kitchen
I have never been and probably never will be a high maintenance kind of chick that requires a lot to survive.  We used to camp a ton when I was little and I was always the first one booted from the campers into a tent.  The tradition of camping has been such a memorable one that now having children of my own I want them to enjoy the same great experiences I had as well as form those great memories and traditions for our own family.

Monday

A Box for Survivalists - Survive Monthly #Giveaway

What will you do when the power goes out like in the popular television show "Revolution"?  How-about when nature strikes and you are forced to live off the land?  What if there really is a Zombie Apocalypse?

Thursday

The PowerPot V + Lithium 4400 Battery Bank Review and #Giveaway

First and foremost I truly believe we need to start teaching our children how to survive without all the luxuries they have become accustomed to - you just never know what could happen in the future.  This is why I garden year round, sew as many things as I can, make as many of my own products, and use as little energy as I can.  I also teach my kids how to do these things right along side me.

Friday

Goal Zero Escape 150 Adventure Kit Review and Giveaway

As a blogger technology and electronics are a huge part of my life!  Being up on the newest and best in each category is key.  But I am also a green living blogger which causes for some serious internal controversy when using all of this technology.  I can't always seem to find that happy medium between wanting the latest technology and conserving energy.  That is unless I am able to find an energy saving or possibly solar product!  You know that I recently made a few switches to solar powered lighting, power outage lighting, and the portable charger which doesn't need to be plugged in.

Wednesday

Mr. Beams ReadyBright™ Starter House Kit (MB240) Wireless LED Power Outage Lighting System Review and Giveaway

Kids nowadays are so dependent on technology.  We use more power and natural resources than we ever have and that's not going to start getting better unless we learn to make the necessary changes in ourselves and the way we raise our children.

Friday

EcoZoom Versa Lite Stove Review and "Just in Case" Giveaway

So this is going to be an interesting review to read if you have the time!  I want to start off by saying everyone again is entitled to their own opinions as am I!  In saying that...how do you feel about the supposed end of the world coming in the next few weeks?  What about the Zombie apocalypse that people seem to think is slowly happening?  Here are my thoughts...
