Pure Prescriptions New Greens Berry Super Food Review and Giveaway

As I am sure you have been seeing a lot of discussion lately on my facebook page.  I have been attempting a raw foods/juice diet.  I am not only trying to lose weight but cleanse my system.  I am so sick of feeling helpless and over weight.  When a friend recently told me how much weight and how quickly she lost it, I had to give this new option a try.

There are of course several different ways to go about a juice only cleanse or raw foods diet.  I decided that I would take it one day at a time.  New Greens had just asked me to review their Berry Super Food 15+ so I thought what better of a time to start.  Each day I have been drinking nothing but tons of water, 1 small bottle of Odwalla Superfood juice, and several glasses of my New Greens Berry formula.

Mohawk Home Kitchen Mat Review and Giveaway

mohawk flooring

There's nothing worse than waking up in the morning, walking like a zombie into the kitchen to either make yourself a cup of coffee (or in my case get the kids some breakfast) and stepping onto the cold tile.  What I personally really hate about flooring is when washing dishes, it never fails I am spilling water all over the floor.  Of course you know me I'm not wearing shoes regardless of the season and I take one step the wrong way and wipe out on my a$$.  I had never really given much thought to rugs and or carpeting until last year when I worked with Mohawk Rug on a review.

Buy Costumes Sucker Punch Mask Review

By now you know we are die hard Halloween freaks if you don't you haven't read much of my blog have you?  This is by far my favorite holiday for more reasons than I can count.  As much as I like Christmas it doesn't even play in the same ball park for our family.  We start decorating Labor Day weekend since we have so many boxes of decorations.  We even leave up half of our "appropriate" decorations during a good part of the year.  That includes our skull kitchenware usually.  We throw a lil' party for the lil' ones and a big party for the adults each year.  Our decorations get more extreme each year as does our menu for each of the parties.  Because we are always on the lookout for new or different props, decorations, and costumes, we recently started looking online throughout the rest of the year so we can plan ahead.

Cool Gear Inc. Halloween Chillers Review and Giveaway

cool gear logo

I was very excited to receive my 2 awesome products from Cool Gear last year and this year now again in celebration of the Halloween Season.  As many of you know I am extremely green friendly and using reusable cups and water bottles is just one small thing I can do to help out in a big way.  My family very rarely uses paper/plastic anything because I won't let them.  Dane is frequently yelling at his grandparents about all the things they could be recycling that they aren't!  He is only four and knows how important this is for all of us to take part in.  This almost brings tears to my eyes :).

Environmental Lights Halloween String Lights Review

EnvironmentalLights.com

As everyone knows, we are entering the holiday season again.  In the last couple years we have been trying to slowly make the change into having Green Holidays.  Since, we've been trying to become more green as a family, I figure what better time than the holidays to make this change.  Halloween is of course our favorite decorating season where we go all out!  But at what cost?  We are struggling like everyone financially, trying to save on our electric bills while still trying to reduce the amount of utilities we use in an effort to help the planet.

Progresso Light Cream Soups Review and Giveaway

Progresso - Quality Foods
One of my favorite things about going into a cooler season is the different kinds of warm cooking you get to do.  I was once told a long time ago that during the hottest days of summer, if you are trying to cool off you should have a hot cup of coffee or espresso (which is what I was offered on my vacation).  Even though I've heard that several times after and believe it, something still seems strange about drinking a hot beverage to cool down.  Obviously, I love to cook for the holidays but in before, in between, and after, I'm all about two things (and sometimes they even go together) - My crockpot and SOUP.

OZzzz's EZ Melts Children's Sleep Aid Review and Giveaway

To properly start off this story and review I must tell you somehow my husband and I were "blessed" with two children who just happen to both be in the 2 percentile of sleepers.  For the first 18 months of Danes life he slept a total of 6-7 hours including naps and night time.  Wow, let me tell you how fun that was as a first time mom!  I tried every recommendation I could find online and of my pediatrician's suggestions.  Nothing worked except time!  Declan is about the same and now we STILL have two boys sleeping in our bed.

Creative Bioscience 90 Day Challenge - hCG 1234 Future Review

Creative Bioscience
Never in my life ould I have imagined myself as a dieter.  I was always that girl that made fun of portioning and calorie counting.  I could eat and drink more than most guys in college.  Still at that age I was athletically fit and a healthy skinny.  I'd stay up half the night drinking and finish my evening off with a burger made in the Frat house kitchen or a chicken quesadilla from Taco Bell.  Then, mother nature met up with me and decided to dump as much weight on me as possible.  Kind of like a big "F" you for getting away with it for too long.

Evanger's Pet Food Review

Evanger's Food For Dogs & Cats. Since 1935.

So we are big animal lovers in my household! We currently have three dogs, a cat, and (ummm) a snake.  I feel like we may have a lil less stress in our house if we didn't have all these pets but the same thing could be said about the kids!  These pets are our family and we do everything we can to take care of them.

FRAAS Infinity Silhouette Scarf Review

My daughter of course doesn't think I have style since we are polar opposites when it comes to clothing.  Thankfully my mother and her actually share of the same taste in shopping.   She has tons of clothes from her days out with Grandma and Aunt Jesse.  But recently I received an email from FRAAS asking me to review their new Infinity Silhouette Scarf from their Fall 2012 Collection, which I fell in love with.  As soon as it arrived, Alana stole it from me.  Oh how great that makes me feel even though I lose out now.

Scott's Miracle Grow Soil Finding Beauty in the Fall Project

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

So as you've probably seen I am always trying to find creative ways to plant seedlings to start edibles year long.  From my recycled wipe container herb garden to my egg shell seed starters.  Because I live in Michigan, our growing season outdoors is very short.  Lately it actually varies quite a bit in length so if you are an extreme gardener as I consider myself to be you have to be very aware of frost and soil temperatures.  We have such extreme Summers too that sometimes root plants will even cook in the soil (I've had it happpen).

Because it seems as though this years winter may come a little early, I have decided to start bringing in my smaller plants a little earlier for my Fall gardening this year.  Even though I love to compost,  it is hard to use the soil indoors as it attracks fruit flies.  This year I have decided to use Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® Garden Soil.  This way once I transport my plants indoors, I will hopefully have a few less worries about the fruit flies.  Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® Garden Soil is a mix of 100% organic ingredients which include compost, sphagnum peat moss and manure.
I recently just brought in my carrots to continue growing through the winter. I wanted to make them a cute center piece for my kitchen table in honor of fall so instead of just bringing them inside in the ugly mini orange pots I had them in, I played on pinterest for cute ideas. I wondered around my house for some inspiration as well and found a cute ceramic popcorn bucket.  Using a mixture of the Organic Choice® Garden Soil (which they were already planted in outside) and Miracle-Gro® Potting Mix (added) from outside I repotted my carrots where they would have tons of room to grow healthy without damage to the roots.  The potting mix is specificly for indoor/outdoor plants in a container environment.  Check out how cute this looks on my kitchen island.

New Life Maternity Shoes Review and Giveaway *5 Winners*

New Life Shoes - San Antonio, TX
Have you ever had swollen achy feet when pregnant?  Or have you ever been forced to wear some God-awful sandal like shoe in the dead of winter because you can’t reach your feet anymore?  I have.  I’ve been forced to wear a backless-style shoe in early December because I not only couldn’t reach my feet anymore and soak my tired piggies night after night.  Normal shoes just wouldn’t fit anymore because they were so swollen.

Glass With a Twist Pilsner Glasses Review

Kevin and I have shared the same two goals from the day we started dating.   Some may think they are a little strage or far fetched but they are our hopes for our future and for our children.  Its amazing that we both have felt the same way from day one.  We hope to do one of two things some day as a business - Open a pub or run a Halloween attraction.  We both have an obvious passion for Halloween.  But my experience in opening restaurants and in training in the food industry and Kevins extensive retail management background, we feel we have a true shot and making something happen.  We have a pretty good knowledge of the ups and downs of the business and are very realistic about what it takes to open any business really.

Mad About Gardening Wasp Trap Review and Giveaeway

Each year, I grow as big of a garden as I can and always try to add at least one more thing than I did the previous year.  One of the worst parts of living in Michigan is the fact that I am always waiting for the summer to happen and then I spend the little bit of summer we have maintaining my plants.  Part of it is of course with the goal of producing tons of edibles to can and eat throughout the winter.  But we also love to entertain year long and especially outside.

My Family Seasoning Review

As much as I love to cook, I get bored at times.  Even though I frequently try new things or change up my old recipes, I still feel like sometimes I'm using the same ingredients too frequently.  Generally I know that's what people do because let's be real who makes things they don't like?!  But I am always on the look out for  new recipes.  Thankfully, in my last search I discovered My Family Seasonings.

My Blog Spark Pillsbury Artisian Pizza Crust Review and Giveaway

Pillsbury - Minneapolis, MN

I don't know very many people who can honestly say they don't like pizza.  I know my family is huge pizza fans and not just delivery style. I really don't even like to buy the frozen pizzas from the grocery stre.   I love love love to make pizza from scratch for my family.  This way we can load up our pizzas with as many ingredients as we want without all the extra costs.  I can make decent size pizzas for each individual with whatever their specific likes are.
